One of the elements i always look for in a book, is the setting, where does this take place. While there are several authors i follow { you being my favorite}, i seem to always lean toward books about the south, from Mexico to Florida. I love the south, palmtrees, great southern food, the swamps of Louisanna!! I am also a sucker for books about road trips.Sorry, i got carried away!
Ooh, yes, setting is essential! (And thank you for the boost of confidence!) I could write a book about how to develop and use setting. Funny that you should love hot weather locations. I write about Acapulco but love to read a Nordic setting!
Thank you for the shout-out for From Fact To Fiction.
Often it's what pulls me out of the story that kills it for me. My pet peeves include: Too much coincidence, not revealing the killer until the very end (we need hints along the way!), and anything secret twin, DID, or missing parent returns as the evil villains.
Hi Carmen - I'm always amazed at how much interesting information you pack into one newsletter. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I sometimes wonder if it's too much, but as long as open rates stay high, I'll stick with the 3-course meal format.
